Moving on... (written December 2004)

Well, another year draws to a close. Can't say it's all been fun, but it definitely hasn't been uneventful. The first week of December is now upon me (and the rest of the world, it seems) and I find my life somewhat different from what it was only a few months ago.

Exams are over now. Increased efforts seem to be paying off - a few marks back already and so far I'm happy with them. I've gone through two new jobs in half a year - both extremely pleasant experiences, and on top of that I'm commencing a summer internship with CISRA this week.

My relentless efforts have paid off and now I'm proud to report that I did manage to pass my driving test and acquire a license (and a car!). Now I happily drive through rush-hour traffic to work and back every day of the working week.

Lastly, summer's here... for the first time in three years, I'm gonna be staying with my family to celebrate the New Year.

It's getting late now and I'm really tired... another fun-filled day at work tomorrow, so now would be a good idea to catch some Zzzzz.... Next time I get myself motivated, I might even do something useful with this page... For now, have a look around, enjoy, have fun... whatever :)

WHY???

By now you're probably wondering - why in the world do I bother spending time on this page? Chances are, no one will ever visit it. Or, if they do, they will think it's completely useless and never come back. Ever. BUT...

This is a convenient way of keeping track of all the important sites that I visit often

Also, this is a good way for me to waste time without considering it bludging - it's what I do to get away from doing work without sending myself on a guilt trip

It's also a good way to learn a bit more about HTML and stop using MS FrontPage

Lastly, it's a futile attempt to benefit mankind by sharing my thoughts - maybe there's someone out there who will actually find all this useful...

That's my excuse for it, anyway :)

Before you go anywhere...

Here is a list of important announcements that need to be made.

---------- 23/11/2004 ---------- It's that time of the year again. My first exam is tomorrow and I need to waste so more time. So I updated the music section to reflect changing trends and fluctuations in the past few months. Also, I'm proud to announce that I was lucky enough to be born in the middle of an exam session. Only a select few manage such a feat. I turned 21 on 22nd November. Now back to work... yippee. Additionally, I surpassed all previous expectations and actually took my first driving test Friday last week. My next goal is to pass it. I'll let you know how that goes later. ---------- 13/10/2004 ---------- In order to prevent this place from getting covered up in cobwebs, I've decided to make an effort and update the page a little bit... I decided to axe the old sidebar (among a few other things) - it now has a whole new 'utility' look (behold...) I've also made updates to the links and thoughts on uni sections. But I'm sure you've noticed that by now. I'm also pleased to announce that I have finally found a job which is related to the years of pain and suffering I've spent here at uni. Nice to see the effort paying off... ---------- 06/10/2004 ---------- Whoa... a few more days and it would have been half a year since I last decided to do something useful to this page. Can't let something like that happen, can I... It would probably be a bit of an effort to bring everything up to date in one go, so I'll just hack away at it in little bits until it all comes into shape. I will be brief for now. First things first... I came back from Australian Uni Games (Perth) last week... we had a great time with the other unis and the Judo team was successful in bringing back a handful of medals (one of them was mine :) I'm still saving up for a new car... *** IMPORTANT *** My learner's drivers license expired again *red faced* ... Yes, people. I'm turning 21 in a few weeks and I still haven't got a license. This is getting embarrasing... I should really go and get myself a decent license. Gonna make that a priority from now on. That's about all the time I'm willing to spend on this page for today. Stay tuned for more updates. ---------- 09/04/2004 ---------- Well... if you think you can use the fact that the last announcement was made over a month ago as an indication that nothing much has been happening, you'd be absolutely right! Uni has been such a pain in the arse these last 6 weeks that social life and everything that came with it pretty dissapeared. Now is actually not such a bad time to have a mid-session break - it's a tad early, but I don't think anyone is complaining. As for me, I'm off to Queensland for some quality family time... I wish I wasn't taking my laptop with me to do homework (it is a break, after all) but unfortunately, that's not the case. ---------- 01/03/2004 ---------- Session 1 2004 begins... ---------- 02/02/2004 ---------- Back from Japan...
